Mountain Bell security agent, Tom Coley, was dispatched to a small Colorado town to investigate the case. According to Jesse Aver-har- t, area security supervisor for Mountain Bell, the investigation led to a spry, tobacco-chewinlady who readily admitted she had indeed deposited the check in question. When asked why she cashed the check, the lady said she thought it was in payment for her goat, Agnes. It seems Agnes broke her leg when she stepped into a post hole. The lady figured the post hole belonged to the phone company. Agnes is cured now, but walks with a slight limp. The vets bill came to $100. Salt Lake domestic natural gas production and exploration company, has released results of operations for the three and six months ended June 30. Second quarter net earnings were $50,000, compared to a loss of $103,000 for the same period of 1976, and earnings per share increased from a loss of 4 cents last year to a gain of 2 cents. For the six months, net earnings were $192,000, compared to a loss for the comparable period of a year ago of $157,000, or a turnaround gain of $349,000. Earnings per share on common stock showed a similar increase, from a loss of 6 cents to a gain of 6 cents. Revenues for the first six months of operations this year were $1,112,000 compared to 5641,000 last year, and represent 75 percent of the company's total revenues for City-base- d Per share, the company netted five cents for the first half of 1977 versus a deficit of two cents for the first half of last year. Willard Pease said second quarter earnings for the current year came to $34,919 or one cent per share versus 1976's net loss of $26,561 or a deficit of one cent per share. Willard Pease Oil Jfc Gas has reported net earnings of $141,716 for the first six months of 1977. This compares with the net loss of $63,115 incurred by the company for the first six months ot 1976. The company reported gross revenues for the first half of 1977 of $369,507 versus 545.686 for the same period last year. Second quarter revenues $152,587 versus $25,835.
