Show Page National Enterprise , April Two Penril Increases The ROCKVILLE, MD., Penril Corp (OTC 2.25, 3.00) today reported record earnings and income for the period ending January six-mon- th 31, 1976. For the period net income was $358,092 compared with $292,256 last year. Net inco me per average share was up 32 percent, to 29 cents per share; compared to 22 cents per share in 1975, after taxes and credit for extraordi six-mon- th Six-Mont- Earnings 32 h nary income. Of this, $192,692 15.50 cents per share was earned before the extraordinary tax credit, compared to $155,850, 12 cents per average share last year, an increase in fully taxed earnings of 32 percent per average share. Consolidated revenue was $2,560,708, a 12.8 percent increase over $2,270,320 last year. Penril President and Chief Executive Officer, Kenneth 7, 1976 M. Miller, stated that as a result of the sustained earnings record of the company the Board of Directors has declared the companys third cash dividend. The dividend of 1.50 cents per common share is payable to all shareholders of record on April 5, 1976. Miller stated that the companys resources and financial strength continue to grow. Effective December 20, 1975, Penril purchased for approx- - imately $1,000,000 in cash its Data Tech Devision from Data Technology Corp. Revenue by the Data Tech Division for the Division, were $3,250,000, up approximately 100 percent from $1 ,623,000 booked by the Penril Corp. in the first half of fiscal 1975. Backlog of unshipped orders was $2,500,000, compared to $900, 000 a year ago, up 178 period ending Jan- six-mon- th uary 31, 1976, coinciding with Penril s first half of fiscal 1976, was $2,108,000.
