The company architect would determine how to adapt the house design to the log material. "There is very little you cant do with logs, McComb says. Once the design is finalized, Alpine Log Homes actually builds the house on a site in Victor, Montana; peeling, sizing and notching the logs. Then the lumber is numbered and the house is disassembled and shipped to the site in Utah. Economic Advantage The buyer then reassembles the house by following the pattern of numbered logs. Anderson, formerly of Acocks Ac- counting Service and now a private accountant, has been elected president of the Utah Chapter of the American Society of Women Accountants. The 18 member Utah chapter was established in 1964 for the purpose of encouraging women to enter the field of accounting. The national society, begun in 1938 is represented in 38 states across the U.S. and the District of Columbia. The women hold regular meetings to discuss new developments in business management and accounting principles. They also con- duct training seminars, technical programs and study courses in specialized accounting areas. The national society has a member99 ship of about 4,700 in chapters. The Utah chapter offers an annual scholarship to the University of Utah College of Business to assist one of the schools undergraduate accounting majors. This year s scholarship was in the amount of $200. Isabelle Jackson was elected vice president of the Utah chapter and Melva Harvey of Elmer Fox West-heimand Co. was elected recording secretary.
