Johnson, 4103 So. 3055 East. conducted survey by Mountain States Telephone & the Utah State Telegraph, Public Service Commission and the Magna Community Council to determine if Magna desired to join the metropolitan service has been compiled. Out of 2.035 contracts made with telephone customers in the Magna area, 1,546 voted for metropolitan service with 489 against the proposal. The survey showed 77.6 per cent in favor. The trees will be gathered up by Scouts Friday, Jan. 2nd, and Saturday, Jan. 3rd, for burning the evening of the 3rd, according to Sherman Davies. chairman of the two projects. Judging in the home lighting contest will be conducted Friday evening, he announced. The first place winner will be awarded a $25 savings bond and be entered in the national contest sponsored by General Electric. Second and third place finalists will be awarded certificates, he said. g The project will mark a first for Murray. The Jaycees hope to make it an annual event, Mr. Davies noted. He urged all residents to contact scouts in their area as to the time the trees will be picked up.
