There are seven amendments to be voted on. the first three de signed to take the office of State Superintendent of Public Instruction out of Politics. The fourth one deals with the liability of Stockholders of Banks and the sixth is to make certain changes in the compensation of members of the Legislature. Number five is the much discussed amendment, exempting homesteads of a value up to $2000 from taxation. Number seven is the Initiative Amendment, which if passed will repeal the law passed by the last Legislature prohibiting dentists of the state from advertising. Each amendment is of vital im portance to the people of the state, and every voter should read and study each one care fully before going to the polls on election day. Power plant, power transmission lines nnd other property used for generating and delivering electrical power, a portion of which i used for furnishing power for pumping water for purposes on lands in th State of Utah, may be exempted from taxation to the extent that such property is used for such purposes. Thine exemptions shall accrue to the benefit of the user of water so pumped under such regulations as the legislature may prescribe. The taxes of the Indigent poor may be remitted or abated at such times and in such maner as may be provided by law. The legislature may provide for the exemption from taxation of homes, homesteads, and personal property, not to exceed $11,000 in value for homes and homesteads, and $300 for personal property.
