June To 1 TRAP SHOOTING Saturday, G University Awards 5-- 8, 1936. The proposed budget for 19Sf- 37. according to Dr. James Clove, superintendent and elerk of the board, provides for $89,290.00 as compared with $87,500.00 for the past year. This small increase is made possible by an increase in state revenue for next vear. Last year the board reduced the local levy for school purposes from 11 mills to 10 mills. Murray school district was one of the few taxing units of the state to reduce taxes. Next year the schools can operate on the decreased levy. The board has increased the salary of every school teacher and every school employee. Provision has been made for the increase. The budget also provides for an increase in books, educational supplies, and an elementary school supervisor, as required by the minimum standards of the State Board of Education. Dr. Clove also points out that it is estimated that there will be approxiately $8790 carried over in unexpended funds from last school year, 1935-3and that the cost of general control for next year will be maintained at the same figure as last year. A slight increase in the pay list will take care of the increases of salaries to employees and the cost of the new supervisor. Medical and nurse service is provided for the school children. Educational lectures and entertainments are included. Repairs and upkeep is provided for in the budget and the fact that these things can be cared for without any increase in the rate of tax levy is gratifying to "forgotten man," the taxpayer. Come out to the budget hearing Monday and you can be heard on any item for which you wish information or you can express your views on the budget, either pro or against as the case may appear to you.
