Show MURRAY CITY, UTAH, THURSDAY, APRIL 23, 1936 High School Will Be Represented At Logan Meet Art Peters Leaves Murray Miss AnnabelHle Leetham, assisted by the Misses Alice and Ada Phizacklea, were hostesses to the F. A. D. girls class of the Art J. Peters, proprietor of the meters Studio, who leaves Murray today to make his home in Washington, D. C, where he will assume an important position in the federal service, was tendered a farewell banquet Wednesday evening by the members of the Murray Fire Department with with which he has been affiliated for years. Chief Ernest Smith of the Fire Dept. was in charge of the affair and the banquet was served by ladies of the Baptist church. Practically the entire membership of the Murray Fire Department were present to pay their respects to Mr. Peters and wish him success in his new location. Mr. A. J. Peters has been active in the business circles of Murray for years. He was adjutant of the American Legion Post No. 60; secretary of the Murray Lions Club; a member of the F. O. E; and a sturdy worker for a better Murray at all times. The news of the contemplated departure of Mr. Peters for his new home came as a blow to his many friends in and around Mur ray but they rallied round to give him a fine send-ofMurray pepole will find it difficult to replace this substantial and progresive citizen. Ray Allan, in behalf of the Firemen, tendered good wishes to Mr. Peters at last night's banquet, to which Mr. and Mrs. Peters replied. Musical numbers were given by Russell Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Pat Caldwell and John Stephan. Dance numbers were given by the Elva Brown dancing group. Entertainment committee included Mrs. Ernest Smith, chairman; Mrs. J. W. Caldwell and Mrs. Leo Townsend and for the Firemen, Chief Smith, J. W. Caldwell and Leo Townsend.
