This Is one of the best, if not the liest plays Murray High school litis ever produced, Perhaps the lovely new auditorium played a part in the successful presentation. At any rate there was justillahle pride In presenting their school play In their own auditorium. The Belle of Barcelona' presents many opportunities to dlsply talent, which were not lost on the performers. The leading roles portrayed by Lucy Brliighursl and Emerson Boaiu were most meritorious ; Miss Bringhurst's (lancing ability add lug much to the charm of the characterization. Emerson Boa in quite wou the hearts (if bis hearers, not alone by his acting but also by bis pleasing voice interpretation. Edna Ross and Sammy Oliver were delightful in their little act and could have claimed the Interest of their audience fur a considerable longer time. The remaining cast gave splendid support, the chorus doing some very excellent work. Wayne Nielsen as the "vlllian" was most convincing, while Eugene Woods furnished an abundance of laughs ns the Irish companion of the American lieutenant, Emerson Bonm. Ills smig and (lance '!) was a riot, and his love making to the staid English governess. Virginia Robinson was a refreshing bit of acting and comedy. W. F. Robinson, director of the opera, is to Im congratulated on the success of this production, and he with the entile cast deserves great credit for the manner In which It was presented. That his efforts were nprcciated by Ihe cast was demonstrated by the preser'atlon of 0 gift by the players. In resisinse to this expression on their iart, Sir. Robinson slated that he had never so enjoyed (he labor connected with such an endeavor as In this one, attributing it to the splendid Pmrtsmnnship and cooperation of the high school faculty and the cast, and he also Insisted that the pianist, Miss Evelyn Bring-hurs- t was In large part resKinslhle The high scIhhiI for its success. orchestra, with Miss Brlnghnrst as accompanist has won such a repu tat ion all over the state In Ihe contests they have won. 11s well as at home, that it goes without saying that they did as always, all that any orchestra could do to aid in the success ot whatever the high schoul undertakes.
