Mrs. Beatrice Pierce of Murray has been declared among the win ners in the $50,000 iash prize competition condcted by the laundry- owners of the United States and Canada, according to information received here today from contest headquarters at Iudianopolis. Selection was made front among the 1,041.372 letters entered in the competition from practically every civilized country on the face of the globe. The subject was, "Why The Laundry Should Do My Washing." With the honor accorded goes au award. Mrs. Beatrice Pierce has the distinction of not only winning honor able mention in a field of national omis'tition in which more than a million letters were entered but will also receive a laundry service credit. The prize winning letter of the local contestant follows: "Why should I do my own wash ing when the modem laundries of today can give me the excellent quality of work and at such a low price, that it makes washing et home n useless extravagance.
