This would be sa shocking that it would be the topic of discussion in every home, on every street corner, and at every public meeting. Then suppose that the following day you learn that every person in the state of Idaho had been permanently disabled, and that every person in Nevada, Wyoming, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and California had been temporarily disabled. Surely this would cause much concern and comment, yet the above is the annual loss from accidents in the United States every year. Is the suffering, the cort or the tragedy any less because this total is spread over JS states and 335 days than it would be if it occurred suddenly at our cry door as out lined above? If all these disasters had taken place due to carelessness tnd could have been prevented by proper care, wouldn't you want to do something to prevent the rcoccur-ranc- ? of such a disaster? Accidents rode the highways last year. Mot it vehicles killed 3C.000 people, permanently injured or dibbled 100,00') and injured another millhn. Accidents occurred in places of work causing 16.000 deaths, 60,000 permanent disabilities, and 1,300X03 other injuries. Accident also invaded the home with disastrous result. They kilW 34.5oO people at home. pcfTnaiitT.tiy disabled t 150,000. and caused injjries j women ether men, 5.COO.00O and children. Accidents were also present while people were swimmmu. hunting, fishing, or indulgim; in other forms of recreation The year closed with 17.5 )0 disdeaths, C0X00 permanent ether 2.000X0;) and abilities, injuries from this source. This toll of accidents c t the American people, in wag-losses and medical care, over three billion dollars. FftANCHOT TONE fEHWy27-- . fti uNivtwry 4 RnnR. in HttU&DtCCi . ,-- .r -7 0j MADG& EVANS, ! Remarks and quips were also tossed at the idea of the dilapi dated and frowzy skeletons of buildings at the south approach to Murray. President T. Ray Kingston of the Lion's club, presided at the meeting and referred the ques tion of the two approaches of Murray, to a committee. This committee among the angles of approach to their problem, were advised by attorney Glen E. Howe to contact the Murray City Commission in regard to the passage of a Murray City Ordinance that would enable the city officials to have some voice in regard to the smearing cf the town with garbage. Lion Howe, stated that at present the ordi nances of the city do not forbid dumping activities. The City Commission, Mr. Howe pointed out, are at present having him revise the city ordinances and an opportune time to have the dump dumped in a new and less prominent place. Sheriff S.
