Shipments from the Pacific Coast for the week ending Dec. A, were 114 cars, for the previous week were 105 cars and, for the corresponding week last year were 82 cars. However, some of this Increase, possibly all, Is caused by movement of surplus storage holdings from the Pacific Coast to the Eastern It must be remembered centers. there are so many less eggs in storage in the East now as compared to last year; while on the Taclfic Coast the holdings were running conslderaly above those of last year. Now we notice considerable withdrawals from the Pacific coast holdings and much of that must be In fact this going to the East. so eggs are gomany why explains ing into stcrnge In the East. This Is evidenced by the fact that all during the declining market recently the receivers refused to the last to shade prices. The explanation of the defining market lies on the dermoid of eggs and butter side. Prices have. In recent weeks, been much higher than those of the other food products. This gives Incentive for to batter the prices of eggs and butter down In line with other food products. However, on account of the comparatively limited supply, the wholesale prices are bound to creep up again only to be battered down again by the Influence of the other food products. This Is probably Just another way of saying that the general poor conditions are responsible for the low of egg market. The canard or joke Marled by Mr, Thomas Harrop, In Isith languages, English and profane, that the fire was only the lighting of a fresh five cent cigar by the Inmates of the Eagle Is vigorously denied.
