The contest, open to juniors and seniors In public, private and parochial hlgla schools of the country, was participated in by students In 43 states. High School winners were chosen by faculty committees, and a Gorgas medal was recently presented to each high school winner. From these school winners, the state judges have now selected the state winners, and those eligible have Ihh'ii awarded a $20 cash prize. The state essays are thus made eligible for the national prize of SrsMH), which Admiral Gary T. Grayson, President of the Gorgas Memorial Institute, will present to the winner In Washington D.
