Iyal as always to her school and associates. Miss Hoffman selected her fellow students as the subject of her discourse. Miss Hoffman Iirs been an outstanding student In the Murray high school, not only as a student of marked ability and application, but also a model and exainplary character and charming personality-student of whom the entire student body is proud. ' Mlm Hoffman bus the distinction of having the highest average In scholarship during the entire four years of any student In the Murray high school. She was awarded the High School gold medal for scholarship and activities; the Dr. W. J. Rothwell gold mednl for scholar ship and activities for girls, and the Dr. S. II. Bheranlan gold medal for scholarship. It Is Miss Hoffman's ambition to enter the rnlvrrslty of Utah the coming year. Her valedictory address appears I elow : Iesr Friends; I have chosen to speak of the graduates yesterday and today. As the development of our past determines our present self, so As we develop lxt jy will we find ourselves tomorrow. Therefore If w would provbb for tomorrow, we should he concerned, prlmnrlly with today. We are benefitted by the past in as much as It hels us Iay will be fittingly and appropriately observed in Murray City on Saturday of this week, by an all day closing of business houses. It Is especially requested that all business houses and private homes display the national flag wherever possible. The day's program will begin at 10 :00 o'clock with a parade In which the Murray City Fire Department, the Salt Lake County Fire Department, Clrfe and Fraternal organizations and private cars will participate. A program will be given at the city cemetery, with music by W. F. Robinson and his musicians furnishing the band numbers. Following is the program : Raising of the flag, by Boy Scouts. STUDENTS RECEIVE AWARDS The Murray High School gold medal awards were presented to the students last Friday evening at the graduation exercises. These awards were Instituted some ten years ago, when I. C. Mirier gate a gold medal for the student excelling in public speak Ing above his fellows. Since this time peven more gold medals have leen added to the list and present ed annually to the students who have made outstanding progress in the Tarlous activities and their studies. This year the L. C. Miller award was won by Reno Gallagher. The George A. Jenkins award for music was presented to Fred Erlclwon. The D. V.
