At the present itnie the question of locution lias not been entirely decided but the following Interview given by the Woolen Mill officials to the Salt Lake Tribune shows the progress that has been made. Several details given in the inter, view can not be entirely confirmed but a workable plan for securing the factory can doubtless be arrived at. Announcement of the T'tnh Woolen mills of Salt Lake that it will begin construction on a plant for the I'tah Woolen Mills and Blanket company, a subsidiary concern, at an initial expenditure of approximately $200.(KK), within the next thirty days, brought action from the business men of Murray when of them approximately seventy-fiv- e hall In the city Murray gathered and apiKtlnted a committee to select, purchase and offer to the woolen concern gratis a site suitable to its needs. The mass meeting was called and presided over y Philip Bentz, president of the Murray Lions club. and members of Mayor I. the Murray city commission attended the meeting arid announced that should the Salt Lake firm ac ccpt the offer, they would see that other soweraee. water mains or civic improvements necessary would be installed upon the site chosen without delay and without cost to (he woolen mills. Appointed on the mommittee were Frank C. Howe, Mr. Mavor very An Observation Bentz and Joseph Berry. Following the appointments, the committee of. fered a two and one half-acrplot adjoining the railroad, but this offer was refused by Briant S. String-ham- , manager, and Colonel W. 11. Adams, vice president of the Utah Woolen mills, on the ground that they desired a site adjoining the main highway. Mr. Stringhatn and Mr. Adams later met with the committee at Murray and were shown several sites, and, althought no formal acceptance of the proposition was made, they indicated preference for a tract on the twenty-acr- e proMrty of Isaac Gordon. The latter it was said, agreed to sell the portion to Murray In case it is desired. Further contemplated building of the company calls for a bonded warehouse for storing and grading wool. This venture, Mr. Stringham Ioints out, will be of considerable benefit to the woolgrowing Industry of the intermountain territory, In that it will do away with the necessity and expense of shipping the rawj wool to Boston or Philadelphia for grading, sorting and dyeing. The great importance of such a plant, he said, is shown In the fact that there are approximately 100.0O0.-oo- o jxiunds of wool grown in Utah annually, and freight alone to eastern grading concerns for the raw product, some of which Is returned here after treatment, represents a staggering sum. Four hundrd additional employees will I? added to the company's personnel by the operation of the new plant, he said. e five-acr- e Exciting Basketball Games Scheduled For Next Week By A.
