Show $ PPP Se gradúan inmigrantes Inglés Avanzado Por Carlos latinos en el programa patrocinado por Zions Bank de “Su Banco” Artiles Salt Lake City l pasado Miércoles se celebró en el edificio. de: la Unión de la Universidad de Utah la graduación de los estudiantes, en su mayoría latinos, de curso de lengua inglesa avanzada creado por el Instituto de la Lengua Inglesa de la Universidad (EL]I) y el Zions Bank “Su Banco”, a través del programa de becas “el inglés como segundo idioma” (ESL). Una emotiva ceremonia dió paso a la entrega de los diplomas a los estudiantes de la sexta promoción que aspiran a una mejora en sus ocu-paciones profesionales O acceder a otros estudios universitarios tras el intensivo pro- grama educativo. “Este curso me ha servido como una motivación para salir adelante y alcanzar mis propias metas, nuestros logros, al venir acá a los Estados Unidos”, nos dijo Gabriel G. Esa es la barrera principal para poder progresar. Después de eso, cada uno tiene que tener la actitud positiva para salir adelante. En mi caso, la compañía en la que trabajo me ha dado la oportunidad de progresar en mejores posiciones profesionales gracias a esté curso de inglés, y ahora ya estoy dirigiendo proyectos importantes para el estado de Utah”. Esta es la 6* edición de la becas “ESL” o Inglés como segundo idioma, de un progra- (Colombia); Mary Chacón, Ruth Matern, Mariló “Rojo y Gullermo Noriega (Venezuela); Miriam García, Susana Marmolejo, Héctor A. Sánchez, Anita T. Torres (México); Sandra Noemí Román (Argentina); Angelina De La Flor (Perú). Aparte de los latinos, también se graduaron varios estudiantes de nacionalidades tan dispares como senegaleses, saudíes, o coreanos. El curso se inició en Enero de este año y tuvo dos horas de duración de Lunes a Juevés. . “Estoy mirando sus caras y veo una gran satisfacción por poder alcanzar sus metas, sus objetivos de vida, confirmando su crecimiento profesional y personal”, señaló en -su discurso Scott Anderson, Presidente Ejecutivo de Zions Bank, a todos los graduados y a sus familiares-que llenaban la sala de la Universidad. “Creemos que este programa y nuestras becas contribuirá a mayores oportunidades económicas para latinos de habla hispana, aumentando la riqueza total en la comunidad latina de Utah”. “La visión de Scott Anderson es lo que ha hecho posible este programa”, dijo Theresa A.
