North Sanpete extended its winning streak to nine games with wins over Carbon and Emery. After the Lady Hawks downed Carbon 10-- 4 on April 27, sophomore Mandy to Johnson threw a beat Emery 11-- 1 on April 29. The Emery game was shortened to five innings because of the n mercy rule. North Sanpete jumped all over Carbon, scoring seven times in the bottom of the first to take control of Tuesday's game. The Hawks finished their season with a April 27, 0 loss to Carbon in Price, and 12-- 0 to Emery in Castle Dale on April 29. North Sanpete needed to win both games to extend its season into this week's playoffs. On April 27, Carbon's Troy Grundy returned from a sore shoulder injury that had kept him sidelined - r for several weeks to take the hill against the 9-- Hawks. . Grundy showed he was ready for the playoffs as he no-hNorth Sanpete striking out 19 in the process.
