Show Local sculptor to exhibit in National Wildlife Show MILBURN Bronze sculptor Nick Ryan will be participating in two major art shows in the near future. He has been selected to participate in the prestigious National Wildlife Show, Feb. 19 through 22, in Overland Park, KS, and the Oklahoma Wildlife Show in Tulsa on March 6 through 8. The "National" show is limited to 60 artists, of which only a dozen will be sculptors. The show is promoted by Ducks Unlimited and features several artists of national and international renown. Ryan has completed over two limited edition bronze compositions depicting wildlife, sporting art and figurative subjects, which range in size from small to medium. This past fall "Best in Ryan garnered the Show for sculpture at the Operation Wildlife Show in Kansas. A retired teacher of fine arts in Orem, Ryan has resided in Sanpete County for over four years. He was born on Jan. 24, 1918, in Mt. Pleasant to Edwin C. Ruesch and Hannah Johansen Ruesch. He grew up in Mt. Pleasant and graduated from North Sanpete High School in 1937. He also attended Snow College. He married La Voen Irene Lund on June 30, 1941; the marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on Feb. 21, 1955. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1991. She died on July 7, 1994. He married Louise Jensen from Ephraim in the West Jordan LDS Temple on Sept. 9, 1995. He is a machinist by trade and has worked at Hill Field, Dug-waIronton, Sunnyside and Geneva Steel. He has continued farming since his retirement from Geneva Steel in 1980. He has served as an ordinance worker in the Manti LDS Temple for six years, and has served in ; other church callings. He has one daughter, Karma Mortenson, five grandchildren and three , 0.
