Winners of historical writing contest announced Winners of the 1997 Sanpete Historical Writing Contest were announced Aug. 18 at a special awards ceremony held at the Ephraim Senior Citizens Building. The program included a medley of pioneer songs by Rick Christensen and his family and selections from published winners in the Saga of the Sanpitch. Moroni seniors High school to host art exhibit MT. PLEASAN- T- Through the Utah Arts Council Traveling Exhibit Program, the exhibit, "Out of Print", will be on display for students and the public at North Sanpete High School Library Media Center from Sept. 19 through Oct. 13. The exhibit represents a variety of Utah artists and was created to provide students with the opportunity to observe established artists confronting similar problems, as well as to be an exceptional vehicle to focus on the divers visions of artists throughout the state. MP Library to hold program about Jane Austen MT. PLEASAN- T- Robert Steensma, University of Utah English professor, will be the guest speaker during "A Little Bit of Ivory and a Fine Brush: Jane Austen and her World" at 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 11, in the Library basement. The novels of Jane Austen (1775-181are said to reflect a world which despite its differences from our own in many ways, had much of the same concerns as ours; love, marriage, hope, fear, and material security. The program is by Utah Humanities Council and Mt. The couple plans to be married on Friday, September 5, 1997 in the Manti LDS Temple.
