Electrical aerial line fee was set at $1,400; buried electrical lines will be assessed $1,800; water connection fees are set at $1,200; and sewer fees at $1,600. Another ordinance passed entitled Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings. Mayor Robert Allred said the city needed to pass this ordinance to force people to do something about unsafe buildings on their property. Mayor Allred said he knew of a building in town that is not boarded up and where children play. Allred said the county inspector wont condemn the structure without the ordinance. The ordinance will become law 30 days after it has been posted. Utility request City council passed a motion to extend power, water and fire protection to county residents, Tom and Norma Crisp. A 100 foot sewer extension line was also passed but depends on feasibility from engineers to suspend an insulated sewer pipe across a creek. Mayor Allred stated although the property is outside city limits, it is still within city sewer district. The council passed a 1996-9- 7 budget of $344,792, which includes water at $105,262; sewer at $90,680; electric at $228,500 and cemetery fund at $7,500. A copy of the budget is available at city hall and a public hearing to amend the budget is scheduled for Aug. 15. He graduated from University of Utah Medical School and did his family practice residency with the military at Fort Ord, CA. After teaching the residency program in Georgia, where he was assistant program director, he came back to Manti. He married Beverly Trickett and they are the parents of seven children.
