Show January 24, 1996 - The Pyramid - Page Three Central Utah Art Center lists current exhibit plans EPHRAI- M- The Central Utah Art Center, 86 North Mam, will present an exhibit by Kathleen B. Peterson and Brad Taggart beginning Wednesday, Jan. 31, and continuing though March 5. Peterson, originally from Provo, now lives in Ephraim with her husband and four children, where rural Utah becomes the subject of most of her work over the last 15 years. She was the instrumental force behind the organization and development of Central Utah Art Center and continues to serve as director. Her work for the Jan Kim Ernest Bailey, son of Warren and Lorraine Bailey, Fountain Green, has been called to serve in the San Juan Puerto Rico LDS Mission. He will speak in the Fountain Green Second LDS Ward on Sunday, Jan. 28 at 9:30 a.m. He is the grandson of Hazel Bailey, AMPETE LOFE 31 exhibit will include Sanpete Valley architecture. Taggart, originally from West Jordan, lives m Ephraim with his wife, Kim, and son, B J. He is instructor at currently a part-tim- e Snow College. The human figure is the dominant theme of his art work. He enjoys welding steel sculpture, clay portrait sculpture as well as photography. His work m the exhibit will include some of his interests. A reception for the two artists will be held Feb. 3, at the center. The public is welcome from 9 p m. Ruby Figueroa weds Jonathan Parry in Manti LDS Temple SAN FRANCISCO, CA Juan and Nellie Figueroa announce the marriage of their daughter, Ruby, to Jonathan W. Parry, son of Christopher and Ramona Parry, Mt Pleasant, on Saturday, Jan 27, 1996, in the Manti LDS Temple. A reception will be held in their honor that afternoon from 3 to 5 p m at the Mt. Pleasant Sixth LDS Ward Chapel, 49 South State. The bride graduated from high school in Guatemala before joining her parents in San Francisco She is a home health nurse and is currently working at a nursing home in St George The bridegroom graduated from North Sanpete High School He served an LDS Mission to Guatemala He is currently working for Jones Paint and Glass in St George. The couple will make their home m St George. 7-- Liona Johnson honored on 95th birthday, Dec. 25 Fountain Green; and Earl and Dorothy Nielsen, Moroni. He enters the MTC on Feb. 7. TOOEL- E- Former Spring City and Moroni resident, Liona Larsen Johnson, was honored at a dinner in Tooele recently in celebration her 95th birthday, Dec. 25, 1995. Twenty-tw- o family members attended. She was bom in Spring City to Lauritz and Dessert Anderson Larsen. She was an elementary school teacher, retiring after 20 years For the past five years she has been living with her daughter m Tooele. She is the mother of two children, Norris K. Johnson, St. George, and Pat Gonzales, Tooele. She has seven grandchildren, 19 and one Jonathan Parry and Ruby Figueroa Chris Proctor performs at WA MT. PLEASANT Chris Proctor, former U S. National Finger-styl- e Guitar Champion, will perform at 1 p m Friday, Jan. 26, at Wasatch Academy Auditorium Women artists featured in Snow exhibit Christopher Scott Whitman, son of Clair and Roslie Whitman, Moroni, recently returned from serving in the St. Louis, MO, LDS Mission. He will be speaking at 10:50 a.m. in the Moroni Third LDS Ward on Jan. 28 at the Wales LDS Chapel. Grandparents are Rex and Joyce Jensen, Moroni; Bill and Jane Whitman, Mt. Pleasant; and George and Merle Watkins, Ontario, OR. steel-strin- EPHRAI- M- The talent of Utah women artists will be exhibited at the Snow College Art Gallery until Feb. 2 between 8 am. and 6.30 pm., Monday through Friday. This is the first exhibit to specifically celebrate women artists in the state. The exhibit consists of 22 works m various mediums by 19 different artists, according to a Snow College news release. He has been a lifetime resident and rancher. He married Cecile Bown, Nov. 6, 1953 She died June 7, 1991.
