According to investigating officer Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Terry Smith, citations are pending in juvenile court against William H. Sorensen, 16, Mayfield, and through the Sanpete County Attorneys office against Antone Sorensen, of Mayfield, for allowing an unlicensed driver to operate a motor vehicle. Trooper Smith reported that young Sorensen was northbound about 7 p.m. on Main Street at 200 South here when he ran into the right front fender of an older compact vehicle driven by Robin J. Paul, 19, Glenwood. Ms. Paul was southbound making a right hand turn off 200 South when she felt something strike her car. PROVO, UTAH The impact ejected Sorensen who hit the windshield and was thrown over the top of the car and into the intersection. Ms. Paul, thinking she had struck a deer got out of her car and discovered the motorcycle and Sorensen lying in the highway. She reported she did not see the motorcycle and driver before the crash occurred. Sorensen, who was knocked unconscious momentarily, was taken to Gunnison Valley Hospital where he was treated and released, Trooper Smith said. Under this system 600 ballots are counted per minute meaning election officials can be home by 9 p.m. following an election instead of having to stay up all night.
