For our wedding present, we were rich, they gave us two ponies and a cow. Later, when we got a farm out south of town, we worked hard and saved our money, bought a model T Ford, and we really had something. When we got that ...I well remember the first time I drove it I went up to Jerusalem to get Velda and Roma, or Maxine, who had walked up there for some fruit. Coming back lickety-split.- .. How do you stop this thing, I wondered! How did I know about brakes? We winded up safely out in the field, but oh, what a ride! To that , Leonard added: Yes, 65 years of married life.. .and just think, with one husband and just one wife. Maybe we are not very modern, or we could have had partners two, three, or four, but this way we have one wonderful Family Circle... who could ask for more? Yes, weve grown used to each other, remained loyal through the years, Weve now something more precious than gold...a big family circle of 87 persons, each member very special, to give us joy, and keep us company as we are growing old.
