Mr. and Mrs. Lester Johansen of Richfield, Idaho, spent the past week visiting with Mrs. Etta Larsen and family. Mr. Johansen is a brother of Mrs. Larsen. They were here to attend the N.C. Johansen reunion held at the Spring City Park, Sunday, July 24. Mr. and Mrs. Briant Larsen of Midvale and Mr. and Mrs. Milton Larsen of Moroni, spent the weekend here visiting their Miss DaNece mother, Mrs. Etta Larsen and sisters, Aileen, Katheleen and Camille. On Saturday, Mrs. Etta Larsen and family visited in Ephraim with Mr. and Mrs. Monte Jacobsen and family. On Friday, Mrs. Etta Larsen in company with Mr. and Mrs. Lester Johansen of Richfield, Idaho, wef-dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Nelson in Fairview. They also visited Mr. Byron Larsen of Fairview and Mr. and Mrs. Francis Johansen and Mr. and Mrs. Heber Anderson of Mt. Pleasant. Niel Smith and Tina Smith children of Mr. and Mrs. John D. Smith of Copperton, are spending a week with their Mr. and Mrs. grandparents, Otto P. Ludwig. July 24th, Pioneer Day, was observed Sunday in sacrament meeting. Gordon Sorensen of the ward bishopric, presided. The ward choir sang special numbers and Glen Osborne of the ward bishopric read a history of early Spring City. Tomand daughter, my Brunger Paula of Milbum presented a vocal duet. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Jensen and children of Kearns visited the past weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Orrin Jensen. Glen Justesen sustained a badly broken arm while visiting in California with friends. The accident occured while he was surfing. underChristian Sorensen went surgery last week at the Mr. Sanpent LDS hospital. Sorensen returned home Sunday recovering nicely from the operation. Bp. and Mrs. Harold L. Mickel have purchased the home n of the late Mrs. Jennie and are now making their home there. Mr. and Mrs. Kay Peterson and children of Granger were weekend visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Peterson and family. Miss Lynda Sorensen from Kearns visited the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Geneva Sorensen. Mrs. Rose Schofield and Mrs. Helen Madsen with the AAUW fountain Cjreen Mrs. Macel Anderson of Salt Lake City spent the past weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Vurl Morgan and other friends in town. The day was enjoyed by about 60 family members attending the reunion. Mr. and Mrs. Don Stock and four daughters of Murray spent the three day 24th of July holiday at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vurl Morgan. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Collard entertained at a steak fry at their home last Tuesday even- ing. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Morris Bunnel of Spring City. After their enjoyable dinner the two couples went to Nephi where they bowled several games. Visitors at the home of Mr. 16 and Mrs. Leon Wilkins on Thursday were Geniel Livingston Thatcher who was born and raised in Ftn. Green; her uncle, Mayor E. M. Ivory, and Grove Carter, who in the 1950's did student teaching in Moroni. They are both from Salt Lake City, and are instrcctors for the blind for the State of Utah. Fountain Green had several fast changes of weather last Thursday. Early morning it was in the low 50s. By early afternoon the temperature went up to a hot 93 degrees but in less than one hour it was down to 70. It then went back to 80 and there was a small sprinkle during the cooling off time. Fay Draper and Fern Johnson of Salt Lake City visited last Sunday and Monday at the home of Effie Johnso. Her daughter, Verdes Dyches and two children of Moroni also were visitors. Miss Denise Nielsen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Burton Nielsen was on the hoonr roll at Utah State University, last spring quarter according to an announcement by Claude J. Burtenshaw, dean of students. Denise was a junior. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Reid Beck visited Sunday with their family at the home of Mrs. Mabel Beck. The visitors live in Bountiful. In the evening a smorgasbord was served after which a party and hootenannie closed the day.
