Show Hassard Wilcox, a pioneer resident resi-dent of Mt. Pleasant, died at an eurly houir Monday morning after t long illlness from kidney trouble slid other complications. Mr. Wilcox was born in Salt Lake City February 15, 1849, and came to Mt. Pleasant with his parents, John Henry and Mary Young Wilcox in 1860, since which time he has resided here. His parents came to Utah in September 1847. J-Iia mother, who survives him, is past nlnaty-four years of age. She is one of tlis few surviving pioneers o.' 1847. Mr. Wilcox is also survived sur-vived by his wife, who was Miss Matilda Westwood of Fairview, and tbe following sons and daughters, James H. Wilcox of Lander, Wyoming, Wyo-ming, Mrs. F. M. Johnson of Helper-, Utah, Bert Wilcox of Standardville, Utah, Roy and Wefbly Wilcox and ' ilary Syndergaard of Mt. Pleasant. Jtssie Jensen and Claren.ce Wilcox preceded him to the grave. Wilcox of Moab, Utah, Mrs. Mary Day of La Salle, Utah, Mrs. Clariaa Sidling of Payson, Utah, Mrs. Hannah Han-nah Carlson of -Manti, Utah Mrs. S'artha Westwood of Moalb, Utah, Jrslius Wilcox of Sterling, Alberta, 0. nada. Funeral services for Hassard Wil-tox Wil-tox were held Wednesday In the South ward chapel with Bishop A. 1. Petersen officiating, Prayers were, offered by Christian Johansen, and Hi'hry Haaler. The speakers were Henry P. Ol-iin, Ol-iin, Joseph Seely and Bishop Fet-fraen, Fet-fraen, Special music was furnioh-eq furnioh-eq by the chair with Miss Christie Clark as soloist. The grave was dedicated iby Hyrum -Seely. Revives Re-vives and friends from all sections oi Utah attended the services and ike floral offerings were exception-illy exception-illy profuse and beautiful. |
