Show Spring City Couple Celebrate 60th Aiiniversary Mr. and Mrs. Andres Thompson, residents of Spring City for the past 40 years, were the honor guests at a surprise party givvii by their descendants on the occasion occa-sion of the sixteth anniverjary of their wedding, Saturday, Novem-b:r Novem-b:r 23. Bora In, Denmark. April 16, 1851, Mr. Thompson spent many years as superintendent of the L. D. S. Sunday school m has home town, and foUowing his marriage to Lena Christina Jensen in Copen-hag-n, November 23, 1875, emigrated emigra-ted to Utah, tattling in Spring City. Mrs. Thompson' was bom- May 6. 1855 in the same small town in Denmark, and a childhood romance ro-mance began which culminated in the marriage 60 years ago. After coming to Utah, Mr. Thompson tint-red the general contracting business in the nearby near-by towns and continued in this Una of occupation until about seven sev-en years ago when he retired. The family has b-ten active in Seventh Day Advents church work since coming to Utah, and because of the lack of building faciiiiiea of this organization in Spring City, have given their bome to all functions of the church. Th y have been the parents of ten children, eight of whom are itill l.vi'ng. They are James E. Thompson, Andrew M. Thompson, Fred Thompson, Tamus Thompson, Thomp-son, all of Spring City; J. C. Thompson. Ogd-en; Mrs. .Joseph Bo en, Ephraim; Mrs. Edward Edmunds, Ed-munds, Wales, England, and Mrs. B n.amin Williams, of Fountain Green. Thry also have thirty-six grand-childr-n and1 eight greatgrandchildren. |
