Show Former Rio Grande R. R. Division Agent and Wife Observe Golden Wedding Mr. and Mrs." John H. Hornung, former residents of Manti, will entertain ent-ertain at a reception in honor ol their golden wedding anniversary, Sunday, April 15, at the home oi their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James S. Webb, 701 Crane Ave., Turlock, California. Mr. Harming until his retirement seven years ago. was division agent of the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad for the Sanpete Valley and Marysvale districts. Previous to that he had been general gen-eral agent for the Sanpete Valley railway, at Manti since 1894. His railroad career began as station a-gent a-gent at Oasis, May 1, 1882, on the old Utah Southern Extension railroad rail-road under the general superintend ency of Bishop John Sharp. In 1590 he became joint agent at Nephi and later on at Manti. Mr. Hornung was born in Philadelphia. Phila-delphia. Pa., Dec. 27, 1861, and came to Utah In May, 1872. In 1884 he was married to Miss Elizabeth L. Webb, only daughter of Edward and Elizabeth Home Webb of Oasis, Utah. They have four children: Harrv Edward Hornung, Mrs. Charles I.. Johns, Huntington Park, Cnl. (the wife of former Superintendent C. L Johns of Wasatch Academy); Mis Margaret H. Perron, Los Angela, and James 8. Webb, Turlock, Cal. ' During their long residence in Manti Mr. and Mrs. Hornung were '.active In civic and club work and have a host of friends throughout central Utah. They have made their home in California for several years past. |
