Rain and snow provided a formidable opponent for the Badgers over the weekend, forcing the cancellation of three games. Before the rain and snow put the Badgers out of business against CEU, Snow College unloaded a hitting assault on their rivals from Price, whipping the in five innings. Eagles 15-- 4 Unfortunately, Snow didnt have a chance to take the momentum into the second game because of Natalie Against Timpview, White, pitcher; Melynda Blain, catcher; and a great defensive team led the Lady Hawks to the victory. Sara Whitman had three RBIs; Melynda Blain a home run; Anna Palmer tripled; and Emily Eliason and Liz Dyches both doubled. The following day in Rex- burg, ID the Lady Badgers faced a strong Ricks team and strong, cold wind gusts. That lethal combination took its toll as the Lady Vikings pounced on Snow first game, 0-The loss momentarily dropped the Lady Badgers out of first place; however, they still had a chance to redeem themselves in game two. A win in game two would have deadlocked Snow and Ricks at the top of the SWAC with only two weeks to play. Things looked good for Snow early in the second game when Katie Nuttal knocked in Robyn Peterson, giving the Lady Badgers a lead. Ricks tied the score in the third and the two teams exchanged runs from there on, eventually finishing the seventh inning deadlocked at six. It took extra innings for the leagues top two teams to find a winner. Unfortunately for the Lady Badgers, it was Ricks College coming out on top, 7 in eight innings. The loss solidified Ricks grasp on first place and leaves Snow College an uphill battle if they are to win their sixth straight SWAC title. Nearly every Lady Badger collected at least one hit in the second game, but it wasnt enough to stave off defeat. Snow travels to St. George this Thursday to face Dixie College, then they turn around and travel to Rangely, CO to face CNCC on Saturday. in the 7. 1- -0 6-- r.
