But, the Lady Badgers fought back and were able to take advantage of an error by CNCC in the second, turning it into three runs of their own, knotting the score at With the score tied at 5 in the bottom of the sixth, Snows Marci Lofthouse ripped a triple and then scored on to Kari Butchers single to break the tie. The Lady Badgers went on to score two more runs in the inning, eventually holding on for an 5 victory. Katie Flowers and Kari Butcher led the offensive attack with two hits apiece and Katie Nuttal joined Butcher with two RBIs. Unlike the first tame, the second-hal- f of the double-headwas a pitching duel. Snows Dana Peacock held CNCC scoreless, and Marci Lofthouse brought in the games only run with her third hit of the game, a two-odrive to right field in the sixth, bringing in Stacie Lupo and giving the Lady Badgers a victory. Peacocks pitching and Marci Lofthouses hitting performance gave the Lady Badgers a 1 SWAC record, but more importantly, it gives Snow College a vital conference lead as they being their toughest road trip of the season this weekend. Child abuse prevention meeting today MANTI-- - Children sometimes use the old childhood chant, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me." The chant is used to protect themselves against being hurt by vicious, hateful words. "It doesnt work", says Kay Jensen, child abuse prevention team member. "Words do hurt. Injuries dont show on the outside. Cruel words wound children on the inside. " Children will bounce back from a few such hurts. But if the message repeats itself, the message they are stupid, lazy, worthless, the emotional abuse will begin to show. 835-817- 1.
