Show XU Januan 7, 1982 New mayor, councilmen take oaths on Monday Ephraim MT. PLEASANT Sanpete Countys first woman mayor Amoir Deuel of Mt. Pleasant was sworn into office Monday at noon along with three members of the city council. It will be a new venture to have a woman mayor and it will provide a new slant on municipal government, said City Recorder Don Hill prior to administering the oath of office to the citys new mayor. Also accepting oaths of office were councilmen Allan Shelley, and two new members, Mark Allan Beck and Michael Andersen. o City Recorder Don Hill officiates in swearing in ceremony for Mt. Friends and family members were also in attendance. Mayor Deuel said council meetings would continue to be held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 7 p.m. in the council chambers.
