Show SPRING CITY ATHENE OSBORNE Mrs. Edith Schofield returned home last week from an eight day tour in Hawaii. She had a very interesting and lovely trip. The Bee Hive tour of which she was a member left Salt Lake City by plane and went to the Island of Honolulu. The group toured the beautiful Polynesian Culture Center where the LDS Church sponsors groups from the Islands where they present a full day show for five days of the week. Here they present shows of varied interests. The tourists attended the Kodak show in Honolulu. A tour was made of the Paradise Park, Sea Life Park, The Pearl Harbor cruise where they saw a small portion of the Battleship Utah. There are the names of those who lost their lives at the bombing of Pearl Harbor. The American flag flies on top of the ship. The hut was visited where Robert Louis Stephenson did some of his writing. Mrs. Schofield attended a session of the LDS Temple also Sacrament Meeting and Sunday School of the Honolulu stake. There she met a niece, Mrs. Veona McBride, with her husband touring the Islands of Hawaii. Mrs. Schofield was on the Bee Hive tour, they flew by plane to Kauki. They were delighted with the Garden Islands, and the Church College at Honolulu. On this tour were students and teachers from Dixie College and from Tremonton, a Special Interest LDS group. So many interesting places of interest were enjoyed with a desire by all or a second visit to beautiful Hawaii. Mr. and Mrs. Osmer Beck have returned home from a happy visit to .Maplewood, Minnesota with their son and family. Dr. and Mrs. Boyd Reid (Sandra) Beck and little daughters Sherene and Anna 462-268- 8 Author visits Social Events with Averetts Pearl Baker, well known for her two serious books on the places and went into Wisconsin for a visit to the state. They report Boyd, Sandra and children are fine and very busy, doing considerable work in the LDS Branch there. Last Friday night, March 22, Mr. and Mrs. Osmer Beck, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Blain, Andrea Blain, Christine Blain and Shanna Beck of Spring City, attended the wedding in Magna for Mr. and Mrs. David Tuttle. The young bride Joann, is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd (Neva) Black of Sandy. The mother of the groom is Mrs. Maurice A. Tuttle, Sr. of Magna. The marriage was performed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. The wedding reception was held that evening. The family member from here attended the reception. Mr. and Mrs. Theron Madsen spent Saturday and Sunday in Provo with Mr. and Mrs. Rees Bradley and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Robinson. The Boy Scouts group went on camping overnight trip Friday and Saturday. They hiked, camped and prepared their meals on the trip. Last summer Dr. Averett and his brother-in-law- , Newell Curtis of Moroni met Mrs. Baker on where it crosses the Muddy a few miles this side of the Emery County turnoff, and took her down into the country south of there to see a Butch Cassidy inscription on a cave .wall. The cave was small, but could have been a welcome shelter to a man during a storm. Above it in the wash, is a small meadow where a saddle horse or two and a pack horse would have found feed until the storm blew over. The writing was made with charcoal, but had ben put on thickly, tour of San Francisco. Miss Peterson was elected to the honor by the School of Arts and Letters of Southern Utah State College where she is a student, and is sponsored by the Mt Pleasant Chamber of Commerce. The meeting began at 10 a.m. The nutrition lesson was given by Marie Thomas, Alberta Lamb taught some of the sisters how to crochet hot pads. A hot dinner was served at noon by president Janell Harris and Lucy Dye, Eunice Rees, Janice and Pam Nelson. Bryant and Enid Lamb of Murray spent the weekend of March 10th with his parents Mr. and Mrs. H. Ben Lamb.
