Show Funeral Held for John Melgaard Funeral services for John Mcl-.aard. Mcl-.aard. a victim of the Spring Canyu.i Coal Mine di taster, were held in the Fail-view Nuith Ward chapel la-u Saturday afternoon, with Hishop J. It. Graham presiding. Music was furuishedi by the combined Falrviuw ward choirs, with a vocal solo by Jesse L. Young, and a ouartett bv T'olep Nielsou, Mrs. Itruce Cox, Mrs. .Lewis Peterson und JeSi,. L. Young The speakers, who paid many tributes trib-utes of respect to the departed, were Mayor If. M. Kasmussi-n, Swen O. .Nielsou, and Archie Christensen of Fain lew. and Jacob Fixslead of Man-Ill. Man-Ill. Closing remarks were by Hishop I Graham. Prayers were offered by C. V. Howell and Thomas Klgby. A I large number of school children carried tho floral offerings. Mr. Melgaard was a native of Denmark. Den-mark. He emigrated to Utah in November, 1 y 1 0 , coming ilirectly to Fairview where he lived with hi-, brother, S. P. Melgaard. for some time. He married Aunie Englau.l at Winter Quarters in 1 y 1 3 , who with three children, George, Jack, find Grace Melgaard. survive him. (He Is ulso survived by hi.i brother, i S. P. Meigaard of Fairview, and by his parents and four sisters who reside re-side In Denmark. Interment was ia the Fairview cemetery. The grave was dedicated by Hans Ma.lr-en. |
