Show Funeral For Joseph Hughes Funeral services were held Wednesday at 1 p. m. in the L. D. S. South ward .chapel for Joseph Worthen Hughes who passed away at his home here Saturday morning. Bishop A. L. Peterson officiated. The opening song by the cho'r was "Nearer My God to Thee". Ihe invocation was given by Frank Shepherd alter which the ward choir sang "Sometime We'll Understand". The speakers were Vern H. Gunderson, President H. C. Jacobs Ja-cobs and Nels Johansen, and the ciosing remarks was by Bishop A. L. Peterson. A quartet, Mrs. Alia Jensen, Mrs. Opal Scoville, George Squire and Bishop Peterson, Peter-son, sang "Lead Me Gently Home". A vocal solo, "Sing Me to Sleep" was sung by Mrs. Clarice C. Olsen. The closing song by the choir was "Thougn Deepening Trials Throng Your Way." James C. Johansen offer- ciA 1 ho Vif-n r H ir-l i on Interment was in Mt. Pleasant city cemetery directed by Jacobs Mortuary. Mads Anderson dedicated dedi-cated the grave. Among the out-of-town people who came here to attend funeral services for Mr. Hughes were: Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Geilman of Ogden; Rudolph Larsen, Emmett, iciaho; Mr. and Mrs. . Christian Hansen, Magna; Mr. and Mrs. Henry W. Hughes, Thora Hughes and Bert Davenport of Panguitch; Pan-guitch; Mrs. Heber Mower, Hor-tense Hor-tense Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Orton, Eva Neilson, Mr. and Mrs. Ai lo Jensen and John Orten of Fairview; Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Stewart of Milburn; Ervin Orten of American Fork; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Knudsen of Mammoth; Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Larsen, Provo; Mrs. Ella R. Bills and two daughters daugh-ters of Salt Lake City; Willis Tidyell Tid-yell of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Ve-netta Ve-netta Neilson of Moroni, and Mr. and Mrs. C. B.
