Show i FOUNTAIN GREEN ( 1 By Special Correspondence 1 Ex-Service Man Meets Death In Carbon Mine Accident This community was shocked Friday afternoon to hear of the 1 death of Clair C. Anderson of injuries suffered in a Hiawatha Mine accident. Clair is the son of Arthur J. and Theora Christensen Anderson Ander-son and was born November 30, 1926 in Fountain Green. He graduated from the Moroni high school and enlisted in the U. S. Service in August, 1944. After Af-ter his basic training he was sent with his regiment to the front in Germany, his company being one of the first to go across. After serving for fourteen four-teen months he was given a medical discharge. Surviving besides his parents are three brothers and two sisters, sis-ters, Wendell, Forrest and Merrill Mer-rill Anderson, Mrs. Mary Peel and Dorothy Anderson, and a grandmother, Mrs. Sarah A. Anderson, An-derson, all of Fountain Green. Funeral services were held Wclne-day in the Fountain Green Latter-day Saint watr? chapel with Bishop Scott Cook conducting. Social News Mr. and M-s. Oldest Resident Honored Mrs. Mary E. Draper was honored hon-ored by her family January 9th, the occasion being her 82nd birthday anniversary. She was born January 9, 1865 in Fountain Green and is the widow of the late Edward Draper Dra-per who died in 1928. Mrs. Draper is the mother of eight children, six of whom are living: Mrs. Martha D. Edler, Mrs.' Mae D. Peterson, Mrs. Agnes Ag-nes D. Oldroyd and Aury H. Draper of Fountain Green; Mrs. Ethel D. Jackson of Midvale and Everett C. Draper of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Draper has eighteen grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. She is honored hv heinu the oldest Derson born in Fountain Green still living here, Jaycees Are Project Minded The Fountain Green Jaycees are working hard to attain their goal, that of making this Centennial Cen-tennial year the busiest ever. At their recent meeting projects proj-ects such as: 1. a skating" rink; 2. investigation of the Goose bery Reservoir project; 3. a winter win-ter resort in Flat Canyon were voted on. Also a rabbit drive is underway, the date, as yet, indefinite. The , proceeds will go to help maintain a City Beautification project. The charter members banquet is scheduled for January 29th with Gayle Yorgason in charge. Garden Club Sponsors Centennial Program The Home Garden club is sponsoring a program of old-fashioned old-fashioned songs and dances Friday, January 24th in the Comunity Hall, after which the '49er orchestra will play for the Old Fashioned Ball.
