Show Spring City Man Will Celebrate 85th Birthday The family of Edward F. All-red All-red of Spring City will honor him Sunday following 'his eighty fifth birthday. Most of his i 'amily will be present. Mr. Allred was born in Las Vegas, at that time Las Vegas, Mexico, September 5, 1856, a son of James T. S. and Eliza Mainwaring Allred. At the time of his birth, his father was in Las Vegas, called by the L. D. S. church as an Indian interpreter inter-preter and colonizer, this being the second time the father had oeen called to that vicinity. The family remained there "or some time, then returned) to Ephraim. In 1864 the father was called to Circle valley as an Indian In-dian interpreter, taking his family fam-ily there with him. During this time Mr. Allred barely escaped an encounter with warring Indians. In-dians. His mother died in Circle valley. val-ley. Two years later the family fam-ily returned to Ephraim, then to Spring City. Mr. Allred has lived in this city during his married life. He has been a farmer, and' also worked in the early lumiber industry. in-dustry. He worked in the canyons can-yons getting materials for construction con-struction of the Manti temple. He served many years as a ward teacher and is a member of the high priests' quorum. He married Sally A. Billimgton November 17, 1880. She died two years after the marriage. In October, 1884, he was married mar-ried to Lizzie Overlade of Ephraim. Eph-raim. She has been dead for several years. Of his eight children, chil-dren, six are living, Mrs. Edna Brough, Tremonton; Glen All-red, All-red, Ogden; and Mrs. Justesen Mrs. Ethelyn Anderson and Mrs. Lafern Jensen of Spring City. There are 23 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. |
