Show Spring City Woman Is Honored On Birthday 'Kie family of Mrs. Margaret Odborne of Spring City honored ncr Sunday on tne eve of her eighty-fourth birthday. She was oorn at Manti, September 1, 1807. She has an excellent memory and recalls vividly tne many wardships she went through during dur-ing the Indian raids, and in colonizing col-onizing the Sanpete settlements. She enjoys working out of doors w'Uh her flowers. Mrs. Osborne is a daughter of Neils R. and Maria Thompson Beck. When Moroni was settled in 1859, tne family moved there and in 18tJ2 they moved back to oaring City. In i868, 'ner step-father was killed by the Indians, leaving the momer with seven; children, the oldest being 15 years old. Whe.! the Retrenchment association asso-ciation was organized, Mrs. Osborne Os-borne was selected as one of ine couselors. She also was a KelieJ society teao.ier. She was married to William Osborne in Spring City on December 14, 187(3. After their marriage they lived in Onester lor some time. They moved back to Spring City where sne now lives. She has ueen active in the church, serving serv-ing as a Sunday school and Re-iiei Re-iiei society teacher, a counselor ji the Primary for some years. Of her ten children, five are living: Osmon and Pratt Osborne of Spring City; Mrs. Delos Ol-on Ol-on of Rochester, Utah; Mrs. Calvin Jensen of Clawsoii, Utah, and Mrs. Artmur Nunley oif Salt Lake City. Mrs. Osborne has 24 grandchildren and 21 great-6randchildren. |
