Show Spring City Woman Celebrates 89th Birthday Anne M. Hansen celebrated her eighty-ninth birthday, Tuesday, Tues-day, February 25 at her home in Spring City where she has lived the past seventy years. She is the oldest woman in Spring City. She was born in Albeck, Denmark, Den-mark, in 1852. She came to Utah with her parents in 1832, crossing the plains in Madsen's company. They made their home in Pleasant Grove for a year, then moved to Moroni. Her parents were called to help settle Monroe. When this was given up they moved to Sa-lina, Sa-lina, and the next spring were driven from there by the Indians and returned to Moroni. In July, 1SG6, they moved to Spring City, where she has since lived. She was married to Hemming Hansen, November 7, 1870, in the Old Endowment house at Salt Lake City. He was a Black Hawk veteran, and died in June, 1933. Mrs. Hansen lives alone in her heme, enjoys good health, ana does all of her housework. She is the mother of eleven children, seven of whom are living: liv-ing: Edward, Orson, Joseph F., Hyrum Leroy and Orland Hansen Han-sen of Spring City; Mrs. Elnora Allred of Melba, Idaho, and Henry M. Hansen of Midvale. She also has 45 grandchildren and 58 great-grandchildren. |
