Show Spring City Woman Marks Her 80th Birthday With more than forty relatives and descendants of Mrs. Maria Madsen in attendance, the eighty year old native Utahn, celebrated her birthday anniversary Septem-ebr Septem-ebr 12th at Liberty Park, Salt Lake City. Mis. Madsen was born August 28th, 1857 in Sugar House Ward, the daughter cf Mr. and Mrs. Jens Jensen, Utah pioneers. The family later moved to Mt. Pleasant where she lived until 1874 when she was married to Andrew Madsen, on December 28, 1874 in the old En-aowment En-aowment House with Daniel H. .. . ml - f.nn Wells ouuiau g. J.ne ckjuic men moved to Chester where they lived until 1890. wncn they went to Spring C.ty, wnere she has since resided. Mr. l.Iadscn died May 13, 1836. Mrs. Madsen is the mother of eleven children, nine of whom are living, eight daughters and one son. The dinner table was centered with bouquets of sweet peas and 'Th-se attending the party were the following: Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Jchnscn, Long Beach, California; Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Mr. and Mrs. James Lam bert and Mr., and Mrs. James H. Peters-n, all of Salt Lake City. |
