Show Srigham Y. Allied Observes 79th Birthday Brighaim Y. Allred recently celerbated his seventy-ninth birthday anniversary at his home in .Spring City. He was born in Ephraim, Utah, August 25th, 1862, son of John T. '6. and Eliza Mainwaring Allied. All-ied. The father and mother were memibers of the Mormon Battalion. Battal-ion. They were well-acquainted with the Propslhet Joseph Smith. The mother was an English immigrant im-migrant and upon her arrival at Nauvoo was a cook in the Nau-voo Nau-voo Mansion. Mr. Allred has lived ini Eplh-raim, Eplh-raim, Circle Valley and Spring City. His father was a colonizer and Indian interpreter. His family fam-ily was with him on many trying try-ing Indian escapes. They knew the Indian chiefs who came to converse with the father. Mr. Allred was married) to Christena Neilsen, November 12, 1885 and since his marriage has resided in this city. In early days he worked in the canyons in the saw mills, and when 16 years of age worked ifor the Manti Temple in building a road. After his marriage 'he worked in the mountains a winter getting gett-ing lumiber for the Temple. He has always been a farmer. He is a faithful Ohurch member and at present attends his meetings. He is a member of the High Priests Quorum. His wife has been dead for twelve years. Six of his eight children are living: Mrs. Eliza Hansen, Earl andi-Ives Allred of Spring City, Mrs. Grace Ezell, Sanford and Hugo Allred1 of Salt Lake City. There are 15 grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren. |
