Show Charles R. Mills Is Honored On 80th Birthday A family dinner honoring the eightieth birthday of Charles R. Mills was held Sunday, August 23rd at the home of his daugh-j daugh-j ter, Mrs. Ethel Wilson of Sco-field. Sco-field. All of Mr. Mills children were present and all but six of his grandchildren were present. His sister came from Blanding to attend at-tend the party. Dinner was served to thirty guests after which a sketch of Mr. Mills life was read by his son, Moyle Mills. Officers were elected to carry on a yearly reunion. Mr. Mills was born January 7, 1862 in Offalon, St. Clare County, Illinois. He came across the plains by ox team while just a baby. He spent his early years in Mt. Pleasant. At the age of 21 he married Matilda Peterson and the young couple went directly to Arizona to settle, and lived there for quite a number of years. They came back to Utah and lived in Neola, and then returned re-turned to Mt. Pleasant where they have lived since. Ten children were born to them, three of whom are still living. They are: Loren A. Mills of Neola, Mrs. Ethel Wilson of Scofield and Moyle J. Mills of Spanish Fork. |
