So that our children may experience the joy of giving at this time of year, each child or family is being asked to donate a can or packet of food. This will enable us to provide boxes of groceries to needy families in our area this Christmas. The food will be distrubuted by the Department of Family Services. The Fillmore Elementary School PTA News What has the Fillmore Elementary School PTA done for the school and for your children this year? We sponsored and helped with the Night, the Amblyopia Clinic (w hich helped at least one child by detecting an eye problem), the Bookmobile, the Halloween Carnival, the Citizenship of the Month Awards, and now we are sponsoring the We Care project. Have you or any of your children benfited from any of these projects? PTA would be valuable if we sponsored only one of these projects and look at the list and we are not through yet. Coming soon: Reflections in February, Bookmobile twice a month, and in January a special project for the children - selecting a mascot for the elementary school and one for the new middle school. Put on your thinking caps and come up w ith some good names. Thanks to all those that realize that everyone is busy and yet still makes time to help w ith these projects that help and enrich our school and the lives of our children.
