How? Well, on nearly every item you purchase you pay sales tax. This sales tax goes into your county's Cieneral fund, which in turn benefitsthe county residents. In 1981, total sales taxes received by Millard County amounted to $126,000 00. From the first of the year up to July in 1982, the county had received $I08,(KX) (X) in sales taxes. So, the revenue from sales taxes has ncarlv doubled thisycar, but the advantages will be even grealer if you plan on doing your C hristmas shopping at home this ycai and keep your tax dollars working for you in Millard County & Cooke Manager, & a 1 Did Howard Andrews, Castle Intensive Care Center. Probst said, All the new babies go in it as soon as they are born in the delivery room. It warms them and it has all of the equipment there that we need for them. Then they are transferred to their bassinets. If a baby needs monitoring and intensive type care, then they stay right in there instead of going into the regular bassinets in the nursery." The unit has been in operation in Fillmore Hospital since October, Probst said, but they have not had to use it for intensive care yet. But it s there if and when a newborn might need it. He said the main function of the unit is to maintain a constant temperature, which could be critical for a sick baby. It has resuscitation capabilities. We can do right on it without having to take the baby off the unit It's designed to, basically, allow us to do anything on the baby that we need to. It has all these capabilities to plug into various things, such as a heart monitor, etc. It has a a probe that goes on the baby's skin to monitor the temperature so that we can maintain a very constant temperature and then we can position the baby in any position that we need to. It has oxygen capabilities, resuscitation and suction capabilities, etc. It's really a nice unit'" I night Both the I ast and West Millard Sheri 's Posses were called out at I pm 1 hursday altcrnoon toseaich lor the lost woman Her husband and two sons Hew down I tom Pocatello m their private plane and her parents came over from Richlield and were there when she was located Deputy Kimball said about 62 to 64 volunteers from the Posses joined in the search which lasted until I p m. The average water holding capacity per loot of soil depth is 0 7 to I 4 inches for sand and loamy sand soils, I 2 to 7 inches for sands loam and I 6 to 2 4 lor loams, and silt or clay loams. Inadequate moisture during germination and early seedling growth can prevent establishment of a unilorm sland Irrigation scheduling is the practice of determining the optimum amount and lime to applv water lo crops In most cases, ellective scheduling will help reduce the amount ol waier and terliher used, while maintaining top yields This can also be a saving on total amount ol power used to pump the water Water management is 50 lo 75 percent ol crop success. A growing amount of evidence proves that measuring root zone moisture allows one lo applv water effectively for best I yields variety ol moisture measuring techniques and instruments are being tried and used by A farmers, consultants, counts agents, and and federal experts A good umverxitv example and one of the most popular is the reccntlv developed neutron probe I or many it is the main tool lor water management During the past summer field season, the neutron probe has been used with a great deal ol success in the Millard and Beaver County areas W uh a select group of farmers, the Soil Conservation Service and Lxtension Service License Service.
