Other funds have been raised by catering dinners to two large groups. Pageant directors Rita Giles and Suzanne inLimburg wish to acknowledge those dispensable people being the scenes who donate their time and energies to make the Pageant a reality. Thousands of man hours are donated each year by a dedicated group of individuals who seldom are seen or receive recognition. Not everyone can be mentioned, but we wish to thank everyone who has helped in any way and note, especially, a few special people who have had major responsibilities in this production. REPORTER ARAVA DALE ASHMAN Arva Dale has spent numerous hours, for the past two years, attending board meetings, gathering facts, and writing stimulating articles to publicize the pageant. The articles she wntes have been exceptionally well done and her work is greatly appre- PRODUCTION GWEN EVANS Production is another big job. Gwen has been busy almost every night locating props, designing and printing the programs, calling cast members about rehearsals, and functioning as a backstage coordinator. COSTUMES MADGE WARNER Since the beginning of the Pageant five years ago, Madge has donated time, talent, and thousands of dollars worth of - She has carefuDy researched tribal costumes to make the authentic. Acting as consultant to the pioneers in the cast, she gives advice in planning color and styles of their costumes. Madge, along with her daughter, Joyce Tarbet, work behind the scenes at aD dress rehearsals and performances distributing and collecting costumes. fabric, leather and trim. g ciated. MICHAEL & BECKY BISHOP PROMOTION Mike and Becky have spent countless hours handling the entire job of promotion for the pageant and coordinating with the Fair and Old Capitol Days. They have very willingly made arrangements for horses, banners, and reservations for four parades; distribution of banners for store windows; poster printing and distribution, brochures sent throughtout the state, advertising spots on all radio and TV stations throughout the state, ticket printing, ordering and selling Aunt Nell cookies, arranging for Scott Tarbet to appear on Today in the West, sending VIP letters throughout the state and contacting all Senior Citizens groups. TREASURER THORA McKEE Thora has been the efficient lady behind the money, keeping accurate records of the financial transactions and advising the board in financial matters. Many hours of her time have been spent writing checks to pay the numerous bills incurred by a production of this size. KIRBY GILES TECHNICAL DIRECTOR Kirby has been working with the pageant ' DALLIN Sl CATHRYN NIELSEN FINANCE ?' They have organized a fine committee that has solicited funds throughout the county. Marge has sung and acted professionally for several years. Marge, her husband, Michael, and their daughter, Michelle, live in Delta. They We plan to settle there. Dolly makes her living by arranging matters of importance for the citizens of New fast-pace- community. A double asset to this year's production of Hello Dolly! is Randy deJong of Fillmore. Randy plays Horace Vandergelder and is also the set designer. He brings much experience to the production as both actor and designer. While at BYU, Randy was involved in over 25 productions, including Oliver and Go For ft, Charlie Brown. Originally from the San Francisco area, Randy, his wife, and their two children, moved to Fillmore a year ago. Randy teaches Spanish, English, and assists with the drama department at Millard High School. Describing his character as aaaty out of habit.
