Everyone who attended the entertainment held at the Kanosh Ward chapel on Friday, May 14 was thrilled with talent of Marie Jensen in her Tribute to Kate Smith, through word and song. so She performed beautifully that one had to almost sit on his hands to keep from applauding. The Kanosh Ward Choir would like to thank Marie for this special treat that she so willingly shared with others. Donations taken in from this musical and from a recent bake sale, will go toward buying new choir hymn books and other music for the choir. Marie was accompanied to Kanosh by her husband, Tom, and two sons, Bob, who is an athlete at Millard High, and Mitch, who this very day returned from the Mission field, making this a very full, exciting day for Marie. On May 7, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Williams and his mother came from Milford to visit their brother and son, Dem and Williams wife, Margaret, arrived from Calif, and a short time later their sister, Mrs. Willa Williams Marquard and her daughter Sandra Willa Williams Marquard ahd her daughter Sandra Gingery and her daughter Janez and Willa, armed from Paradise, Montana. They had been to Idaho where they had made arrangements for Janez to enroll at Ricks College for the fall quarter. Another of Janes WilGrace daughters, liams Bennett and husband Gifford of Tooele, came to join the family and to honor mother and Jane for grandmother Mothers Day. They had a great time visiting, enjoying good food and much picture taking. It had been a long time since Jane and her children had been together, needless to say it was a great reunion. Some of Dixie and Derns married children joined the family. Dem and Dixie were really proud to tell all the family of the newest addition to their family, a little 7 lb. 15 oz. baby boy bom to their son, Richard Williams and his wife Mindy in Evanston, Wyo. Little Trevor was 20 in. long at birth. Jane was admitted to the Fillmore Hospital May 12 as a result of an injury to her leg which occured in mid April. Rex-bur- g, We wish her a speedy recovery. Her leg may lag a bit, but not her mind which is very sharp at 91 years young. Mr. and Mrs. Dexter Anderson went to the SLC Airport to meet her brother. Dan Chase from Oregon. Springfield, Dan is an engineer and will be working with the Power Plant in Hunting-ton- . He was an overnight guest of Laura Lee, Dexter and children. Tess Robison was here from Provo over the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Junior Robison. She also visited her sister, Wendy and family the David Ellisons, and their grandmother Stella Brinkerhoff and Fauntella Robison. Bishop Kent Swallow Sacrament conducted meeting May 16. They are both students at the University of South Dakota in Springfield, S.D. Scott and Lori were on their way to Scotts in home Huntington Beach, Cal. Lori is from Springfield, S.D. Max and Verna Nichols spent May 16 at the Dam Uba beautiful Resort with their children and grandchildren. Daughter, Becky and her husband Glen Olsen and four children of Sandy, arrived on Friday, they were trying out their new house trailer. Daughter, Tena Jonas was there with her daughter, Linsie the sampling delightful atmosphere, and Glens mother, Mrs. Arvine Olsen of SLC was there to enjoy the beautiful view of the lake and her grandchildren. Verna and Max really enjoyed this outing with their family. It was the first of the season, and surely not the last, with a beautiful resort as near as Uba Dam. They all pitched in and brought k goodies for a dinner, after which they good-bye- s their said and returned home Sunday evening. Deleft Mrs. (Jack) a Brunson enjoyed Mothers Day visit with her Betty daughter, Conrad of Draper. Betty came to Fillmore on Saturday, May 8, and on Sundy helped her mom pack a bag and they left for Draper. Jack and Betty enjoyed a week of visiting and doing things together, and as Jack We had a real said, time. The Millard Chapter held their on May at Millard High. Members counted the number of laps that they covered in one hour. Particpants have been busy getting local sponsors as weft as mailing sponsors sheets to out- - n friends and relatives. Each sponsor will be billed by mail according to their pledge and the number of laps covered. Both individual members and chapters competed for prizes with others throughout the 12 state. Also students planning to attend the National Leadership Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, in July will be able to apply aft they can earn over $50 to their trip expenses. Millard Chapter members joined over 400,000 in members 12,500 nationwide chapters milworking to earn lion dollars needed to cover construction, land, and architectural fees for their new National and Headquarters Leadership Center. This is the biggest, boldest project ever undertaken by the organization. If the members in Utah can reach their goal of $25,000, there will be a in the National room Center named after the state.
