Show Millard County Planning Minutes Following are the minutes of the Millard County Planning Commission meeting held fuesday, April 27,1982 at 8:00 p.m. at the Millard County Court House in Fillmore, Utah. Members in attendance: Lem Lovell, conducting; Joyce Scottorn, recording minutes; Lenore Gardner, Mont Snyder, Lyman Finlin-soand Eldon, Eliason, County Attorney. The group expressed appreciation to Mr. Eliason for his attendance and his assistance. Members excused were Leigh Maxfield and Leon Smith. Minutes were read and approved with a minor correction on a motion by Lenore Gardner seconded by Mont Snyder and carried unaimously. The first item on the agenda was Mr. Lee R. Peterson, who was requesting a Conditional Use Permit to place a mobile home on a tfti acre parcel which was divided into one five acre parcel and a three and two acre parcel. This ground is located about one half mile north of the Rasmussen farm at the railroad tracks. He indicated the well and power were already there. The Planning Commission discussed this at length and on a motion by Joyce Scottorn, seconded by Mont Snyder was approved with the conditions listed below. Motion carried unanimously. Conditions: 1. That the two and three acre parcel be reverted into a single five acre parcel to comply with the rone which is a and zone, documentation of this be provided. 2. That a permanent foundation be placed for the mobile home. 3. That Mr. Peterson provide State Board of Health approval on the water and the sewer. The application for building permit and a check covering the fee had already been submitted. Lester Moodys request for a subdivision on 12$ acres located in the water district and adjacent to Dr. Cox's subdivision was discussed. A point of concern was his request to retain 7$ acres in common or to have the County hold this ground in common and he would affect an agreement with them so he could farm this ground. She attended school there and graduated from South Cache High School. Then she attended Utah State University. She then worked as a in Salt Lake City secretary-bookkeep- for three years at which time she married Dan G. Berry of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. For the next twelve years they lived in Roosevelt where Utona worked at First Security Bank as a bookkeeper and later as secretary. She also worked for other businesses as bookkeeper and secretary. She has had experience working for insurance companies, service stations, and as secretary in the field of services. In 1968 she started her own tax counselor business which she still does on a part time basis. They moved to Millard County in 1971 and has had experience here working for several businesses as well as keeping up her tax counselor work. For the past six years she has been employed for Millard County as a secretary for the USU Extension Service, where she has gained additional experience working with people and learning of the workings of a county organization. She has also had experience in working on computers which would be a real asset in fulfilling the responsibilities of County Auditor. She is active in Church and Civic affairs. She is the mother of seven children, four daughters and three sons. One son has completed a mission for the LDS Church and is presently attending Utah State University. The oldest daughter is attending Utah Trade Technical College in Orem. Another daughter will graduate from Millard High School in May and will enroll at Utah State University in the fall. There are three children still at home. Utona enjoys working for Millard County and wishes to continue working for the County as County Auditor. It will be a challenge but Utona is qualified and capable of fulfilling the responsibilities of the job. Talbot announces candidacy I would like to announce my candidacy for the office of Millard County Assessor. Being the incumbant, I have filled this office for the last 4 year term. I would like to thank everyone for the support you have given me during my stay in office and am seeking your continued support. I am the son of Golda T. Christensen of Hinckley and the late Loren Talbot. Im married t the former Diane Lab rum, daughter of DeLynn and Betty Labrum of Meadow where my family resides. We have four sons, Jason 9, Justin 7, Ryan 6, Cody 4, and are expecting a baby this month maybe a daughter???? During my term in office Ive tried to help the tax payer and at the same time be fair and treat everyone the same. When we were factored by the state, myself and others battled to get the factor lowered. If we hadnt they would have been double again what they were. Also, I have tried to get all farmer signed up on Greenbelt. Last December I started a mail out program for vehicle registration and am working on a program now that will enable people to renew their registrations any day of the week in Delta or Fillmore. I hope these programs will benefit the people of Millard County. I'm active in church and civic programs and would very much like to continue to serve as your County Assessor. Flowell Features By Virgie Ivie Tom Williams came from Milford April 27 to visit his brother, Dern and mother, Jane Williams. He took his mother to his home to spend a while with him and his wife, Jessie. This community was saddened to hear of the death of Don Shousen at his home in SLC, April 28. He is the husband of Melba Johnson Shousen a former Flowell resident. Melbas sister, Agnes Johnson and her husband, Avalon, and their brother, Glade Johnson, his wife June, their son Roy and his wife Patsy attended services in SLC May 1. Roy and Patsy sang a duet at the services. Mr. and Mrs. Archie 4. Christensen and Nancy were in Sandy, May 2 to visit their son and daughter-in-law, Lester and Sonja Christensen and to attend Sacrament meeting where Lester gave his new little son a father blessing and name of Garrett David. Grandfathers, Archie and Willis Little Sharp assisted. Garrett was born April the 14th and weighed 8 lbs. 6 oz. and was 22 in. long. He has a brother, Tyler Joseph, and a sister, Mindy. The family enjoyed dinner prepared by Sonja and their visit with each other.
