One thing happened, though, that kind of muddied things up. The battery in her car became terminally ill and had to be replaced. Once this was done she purred right along home without any further problems. They have left their studies at the BYU for a short time to student teach at the Fillmore Elementary School. Hylda Gaer and Dee Robison are going to SLC on Saturday, March 13 to attend the St. Patricks Day Symphony at the Salt adventure for the seven vacationers as they explored the highlights of Acapulco. Phyllis had been there twenty times so she was the best guide anyone could have. This same group ii planning a trip together to Hawaii in February of 1983. Beauregards Myrtle two sisters, Lillie Gerber and Ruby Akin, came to Fillmore on the night of March 5 to spend a week with Myrtle. The three sisters are really enjoying this long awaited visit. Nadine Perkes announces that her daughter, Elizabeth, who is a Junior at MHS, and editor on the Year Book staff, has won first place in the Art catagory in the PTA Reflections contest. Nadine is involved in the church where teaches and in her spare time writes songs. Two of her songs have been published and the money raised from selling the songs was donated to the Pink Ladies. Maijorie McBride went to St. George on Friday, Feb. 26 to visit her daughter, Roslind and family. and Roslind Dwight went to Las Vegas for a three day vacation while Maijorie was there, so she had a chance to really enjoy and spoil her three grandchildren. Her stay was also enriched by the sight of roses and apricots in bloom, and the buds of the peach and nectarine almost ready to open. The garden enthusiasts were all out planting seeds and setting out tomato, pepper and cabbage plants. Maijorie came back to Fillmore on March 2 to a little more snow, but underneath it all crocus and violets were bloom- ing. At one time they operated the Arctic Circle drive-i- n in Fillmore. Hattie Stevens daughter, Rozilla Ashurst and daughter came to Fillmore on March 4th to spend ten days visiting Hattie. Rozillas daughter-in-law, Mrs. Earl Ashurst of came with them as far as Fillmore then went on to SLC to visit her sister Mrs. Jess Stevens. Mr. and Mrs. Jess Stevens were originally from Hinckley. Rozilla and her daughter plan to return to California on March 13th. The Fourth Ward Relief Society is holding their annual birthday party at the First and Fourth Ward meeting house on March 16 at 6:30 p.m. The theme is an Old Fashioned Tribute to Women. will The program feature such greats as Laurel and Hardy, who will M.C. a talent show. loveable These two comics will be portrayed by Kirby Giles and Art Foster. At Sacrament meeting Sunday, March 7, the little daughter of Roy and Patsy Johnson was given the name of Katie and a blessing bv her father. She had spent three weeks enjoying the visit with her children and the beautiful weather. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle (Jill) Johnson and children of Idaho Falls spent the weekend with his parents, Glade and June Johnson. The latter were surely happy to have their Landon, grandchildren By Virgie Ivie Jessica, and Jeremiah here for the short visit. They are enjoying little Katie too. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley (Loa) Roberts of Oregon were overnight guests, Feb. 26, of her brother, Avalon and Agnes Johnson. Loa grew up here in Flowell with her brother and seven sisters, three of whom have passed away. Dinner guests on Sunday of Avalon and Agnes were their daughter-in-law- , Jane Johnson and three children of Price. They had been in Delta to visit Janes family, the Henrys, especially for her mothers birthday. Phyl Johnson was unable to come with his wife, Jane and their children, as he attends school in Richfield at the Technical College there on weekends. Phyl is a member of the Highway Patrol in Price. Peggy Christensen and daughters came Sunday afternoon with their tape players to let several shut-in- s enjoy a tape of the Primary boys and girls singing. Registration forms are available at the Elementary School or from Mrs. Sandy Wade. This registration is for the Fillmore Flowell youth only. All outlying area youth should contact their coach or team representative. Meadow, Kanosh, Holden, and Scipio will be sponsoring their own teams. The Fillmore - Flowell Little League will be sponsoring 7 teams. Little League baseball is open to any boy or girl who will be 3 by August 1, 1982, and not older than 13 by August 1, 1982. The fee of $15 per player does not cover the entire cost of running the program. This fee does cover the insurance, charter fee, and some uniform and equipment costs. The additional costs are covered by sponsors. The Little League program is in need of umpires, coaches, and sponsors.
