Speaking of the statue last week went out to grab some grub and found a little years of age sitting on the boy about bench with his arm on the back of the bench on top of Mark's He was a little bit startled when spoke to him the boy not Mark As was backing out noticed he had moved over to the flagstone checktell you this place ing out the trilobites is getting to be a virtual outdoor classroom Later in the day another boy was sitting visiting with Mark There was a teacher from Garrison in the other day looking for all sorts of books and items for the beginning of school We fixed her up in fine fashion A strange call came in the other day This person needed to find someone to attend the Twin Theatre and count how was many people were in attendance already to accept the four free tickets two for each show on Saturday but had the for asked other commitment They number for Workforce Services should have left my name and number for future reference We have had record numbers at the brary the last two days Saturday with the big Topaz Pilgrimage 257 people visited the library (I'm sure the quilt and artwork display had something to do with it) Usually on Saturday if we have 50 people we’ve been swamped Then on Monday a whopping 160 patrons walked through the doors We couldn’t figure out the big surge unless it's the last hoorah before school starts In the past two weeks have received two different inquiries about Delta history The first arrived from Belgium A local history society is trying to collect everything in connection with local history of their community They asked for old pictures of people that lived in their town In the photos they received there was a picture relating to Delta USA It was a group picture of some school children with their teacher and on the blackboard was written “Thanks to the people of Delta” There must have been some food help that was sent by these school children The person would like to find out if anyone in Delta remembers this event or if there is anything in the community archives about it Inquiry number two from England came a week later 1 his person is interested in Vintage American Airplanes of the I920’s and 1930’ He has come across some information about Ray C Mills of Delta who built a light plane with an old French LcRhone Mr gine He is seeking information about Mills and his plane “no matter how small" Can you sec that have my work cut out for me?
