steals Angela Robins had 7 rebounds Melinda Giles was lough on defense with bounds and steals Shelley Nixon scored also The JV got off to a great start going into the locker room with a 10 point lead Congratulations to the Millard High wrestling team for their outstanding performance in the Desert Duals Tournament January 8 and 9 in Las Vegas in the dual tournament Millard was with wins over Chapparal High Valley High Bonanza High all of Las Vegas and Victor Valley High of Victorville California The second half of the tournament was an individual tournament with the four lop wrestlers in each weight Millard placed six wrestlers in the finals w ith Larry Whitaker placing 3rd Adam Crapo Cameron Whatcott and Brandon Stephenson placing 2nd Van Whatcott and placed 1st in the 135 pound was division Shawn Gates was winning all his matches with pins and placing 1st in the 60 pound division Millard placed third in the individual tournament and brought home a nice Millard defeated by Valley Bly Syl The Lady Eagles traveled to to be defeated in a game The Eagles started off slow in the first half and in the second half they played stronger but it wasn’t enough to defeat the Buffaloes and fell by Angela Robins a sophomore led the team with 10 points CYnthia Olson netted 8 Marla Freeman and 5 great steals Ginger Robison had some awesome assists Melinda had some lough rebounds and Shelley Nixon added some assists and forced a turnover The JV team played awesome They hustled and played great defense to womp the Valley Buffaloes Shelly Nixon led the team with 24 points— a season
