where they attended a concert She came home for the weekend and on her way home attended the wedding of a friend in Ogden Steven Holman son of Ladd and Margo Holman is home after his 2nd trip to the hospital this time to the Primary Children’s Hospital for special treatments Sister Heidi reports he is doing much better Jane Nielson daughter of Alan and Sandra has returned home after visiting in Texas with her sister Debbie Jake is going to Las Vegas to visit with his brother Rick Nielson and his cousin Taylor Cody Lovell of California has been visiting her dad and brother Gene and Lucas Lovell of Lynndyl her grandmother Wilma Lovell of Leamington and helping her other grandmother a few days at the Colonial Manor in Nephi She also visited Ben and Lorraine Slcphcnsen who were her next door neighbors when she lived in Lynndyl Cody and her mother both graduated in June Cody from high school with her sights on college this fall and Carry with a degree in accounting and on to a good job Cody returned home Fri Aug 7 taking her brother Luke with her for a weeks visit DESERETOASIS Richard and LaPreal Cary attended a family reunion in Oregon last week Michelle and Greg Dalton and son from Payson visited a few days with her parents Garold and Elaine Moody A very lovely Open House was held on July 26 in honor of Lawrence Cropper who had a birthday on July 25 and he was 90 years old Many friends and relatives called during the afternoon to wish him a happy birthday Milden and Arprilla Scow attended the George and Sarah Vockin Bradfield Reunion held at Ncphi City Park on Sat were Alargenumberofrelatives Aug in attendance and we really had a very enjoyable day Reunions are wonderful Dixon and Laura Eliason and children have been doing a lot of traveling this past month visiting family members and relatives It was hard to keep track of them They went to a Jones family reunion for a few days then after it was over they went to Reno NV to visit with Laura's sister Cordell and Pioneers' Home on July 24 1992 She was bom in Leamington Utah May 24 895 Her late father was John Greathouse and mother Emma M Sheppard Myrtle was the last of the Greathouse family Mr Greathouse was ownerproprictor of the John Greathouse Mercantile & Drygoods Store one of Leamington’s first stores The family later moved to Lynndyl Utah where they began life as farmer ranchers Hans Christian Myrtle married Larsen in 1920 Mr Larsen had immigrated from Copenhagan Denmark She had three sons Hans Larsen passed away in 1933 Myrtle’s second husband was Spencer Nielson the widower of her sister Bessie The marriage took place in 1938 He had three children Her life as a rancher’s wife included cooking for 17 or more ranch hands at a noon meal in addition to caring for the large family Mr Nielson died in 1965 Myrtle became an Alaskan in 1970 when she traveled to Anchorage to begin life with her son Russell and Dorothy The Larsens cared for her needs for 6 years in their personal home and six years in the Anchorage Pioneers Home Her son was to be employed for six months overseas so her initial stay was for this period but lasted for 22 years She won numerous local awards for her beautiful creative stitchcry and quilt making She also took many ribbons for her flower gardening at the family home She loved word puzzles and coras well as her mallcsc respondence dogs ‘‘Velvet" and “Satin” She structed quilt making for many years in Utah with the LDS Relief Society Myrtle died as she had lived peacefully She impressed all she met with her positive attitude and she truly liked
