Minutes of previous meeting approved - Blaine Penney had contacted Commissioner Brinkcrhoff with the problem of a caule guard on a county road by Dry Creek Ranch The cattle guard is in need of repair Commissioner Brinkcrhoff approved of Mr Penney putting in a gate until the cattle guard can be repaired Lee Roper was present for the discussion He will contact Mr Penney - Commissioner Brinkerhoff stated that there willl be horse races in Fillmore on Saturday and they will be needing the water truck - At this time Commissioner Brinkerhoff introduced a group of Millard High School students accompanied by Lloyd Brown advisor to the Commissioners and other elected officials Commissioner Moon reported on the Public Lands Meetings that she tended in California Commissioner Brinkcrhoff read a letter to those present thaw vas received from June Dutson supporting the new bowling alley manager and the recreation department policies Commissioner Baker stated that he was received questions regarding the hours kept by Mike Holdaway bowling Robyn Pearson exalley manager plained that Mr Holdaway keeps record cm a time sheet that is turned into Max Wood Recreation Department Director and then ultimately approved by Robyn Pearson Max Wood Mike Holdaway and Robyn Pearson were present to discuss the item of the concessions at the bowling alley Various options were discussed to make the concessions work at the bowling alley Attorney LeRay Jackson will review the contract agreement The Commissioners expressed their appreciation to Mr Holdaway for the good job he has been doing at the bowling alley Robyn Pearson explained that there is a need for another baseball field in the West Millard area The Commissioners authorized Mr Pearson to talk with the Millard School District tonego- - r more depth Please ma'to the liate w ith them to pay for half of the cost of a new ball field The ball field will also benefit the school Mr Pearson w ill report back to the Commissioners Recorder Linda Carter asked if the county is being charged for every change that is made to the preliminary plans for the remodeling and addition to the present counhouse It w as the underthat standing of the Commissioners there would only be an extra charge if the plans had been approved as the final plans The Commissioners instructed Mrs Carter that when she calls Craig Ames with the recent changes to the plan ask him if there is a charge for the revisions Linda Carter reported back that there is not an extra fee for the changes Considerable discussion was had on the problem with the speed' limit signs within the subdivisions in the County There is a possibility of placing “Children at Play" signs within the Subdivision There cannot be reduced speed limit signs on the main road outside of the subdivision Commissioner Baker will contact Sheri Wysong of the decision of the Commissioners The Commissioners along with Attorney LeRay Jackson are working on the plan regarding the problem with the the speed limit signs throughout County The Johnson's are interested in negotiating for the purchase of the property on the southwest side of the Gunnison Bend Reservoir Commissioner B aker feels that the Commissioners need to physically go and look at the property that is talked of being enlarged for the swimming area There have been reports of glass and other debris that will need to be cleaned up before swimmming should be lowed The cleaning would have to be done after the water drops Utah Counties Cooperative nancing Agreement was reviewed in relation to Millard County Commissioner Moon has received some information regarding this and has attended some meetings where it as been discussed The status of the unused balance and accrued interest is still questionable there seems to be much confusion regarding any additional activity with this financing Substantial discussion was had on the few options that could possibly be done to help the Deseret Cemetery Commissioner Baker proposed that the county give the Hinckley and Deseret Cemeteries a long term loan to help pay the water district Robyn Pcar- -
