Gratitude expressed Marianne F Jensen Chairman of the Gift Shop at the VA Hospital in Salt Lake City wishes to express sincere gratitude to the Auxiliary and Community for the support that was given the gift shop She said they had a “Bang Up" shop this year (1991) auxiliary units participated and furnished gifts and money 5737438 mailed 196 boxes to 24 slates and one foreign nation (Finland) One patients were served The postage to mail the packages was $53813 This is a project to help the Veterans in the VA Hospital that are unable to get out to shop for their loved ones at Christmas A cart is taken to each room and the veteran chooses a gift for each member of their family It is wrapped packaged with a card and shipped NO CHARGE Volunteers from the units do the wrapping What a load off of the patients mind A special THANK YOU to Pete and Shirley Shields for taking Unit 35 three boxes to the VA Hospital for us Now that the holidays are over it is time to think of the next project GIRLS STATE Senior Girls that went to Girls State 1991 please contact Junior Girls and tell that the PLUSES for attending Girls State It is not too early to plan for it as Girls State Tea will be held March 22 1992 Auxiliary meeting will be held Feb 4 1992 at 6:30 at Top’s City Cafe for those who would like to eat Meeting will be held at 7:30 Please bring Valcntinc(s) as we will then put them in a large envelope and send to the VA Hospital to be distributed to the patients Wouldn't it be nice to have more than TEN members of the 115 at our meetings to help with the programs?
